Description
Chloride Test Kit HI-3815 Hanna Instruments Romania Approx. 100 Tests
Titration is used to find the concentration of an identified chemical in a solution (e.g., water).
In our standard Titration kits, there will be a Titrant solution that is added to the solution (e.g., water) to be tested to make it change colour. The Reagent is then added under monitored conditions.
Hanna Chloride Test Kits
The HI-3815 chloride test kit is quick, easy to use and portable. Chloride is one of the most common ions present in water. In drinking water, its level must be kept low because it can adversely alter the taste.
During testing, when color change is achieved, under careful conditions – usually using a burette – the reagent is added, drop by drop, until the solution turns to the color required. The user will then count how many drops of reagent were used to achieve complete color change. The number of drops used will determine the chemical concentration and results can be found in the manual included.
The design makes the kit easy to handle and, except for mercuric solution, practically prevents accidental injury or damage due to spills. The pH is lowered to approximately 3 by addition of Nitric acid. Mercuric ions react with chloride ions to form mercuric chloride. The color change from yellow to purple determines the end point of this titration.
